Palisade Stay-cation

My mom and I recently spent some time in the beautiful town of Palisade. We wanted to get away for a night, and happened to stumble upon the Wine Country Inn in Palisade, which was somewhere we had never been before, even though I live in Grand Junction, and my mom is always here visiting me. We were more than happy with our little stay-cation.

We started our evening with a fantastic dinner from the Tapestry Lounge at the inn. The food was delicious and the menu included many fresh, local foods. We then headed to the hot tub to relax and enjoy the rest of our evening.
In the morning we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast that was provided and snatched a cabana by the pool. We had a quiet and relaxing morning in the sun. It was the perfect time to chat and catch up with each other.

After we checked out of our room, we decided to head in to town. We walked around and explored the cute little town until we got hungry and decided to grab a late lunch. The Palisade Cafe 11.0 smelled amazing so we decided to eat there. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the summer weather as we waited for our food.

We decided to split the Rapid Creek Sandwich with a side salad and indulged in some awesome honey rosemary sweet potato fries.

After lunch we thought it would be fun to check out all the fruit stands we saw coming in to town.

The stands were filled with so many fruits and vegetables, and locally made jams, jellies, sauces, oils, and more. All of it looked so fresh and delicious. Instead of taking the interstate back to Junction, we took the scenic back road.

We drove up past the dozens of orchards and vineyards hidden behind downtown Palisade. It was beautiful. The view was amazing and we could almost reach the fruit from the road. I had no idea all of this was all just a twenty minute drive from where I live.
This was the perfect getaway. All the service we received was amazing. Everyone was so kind and attentive. It was a great place to spend some much needed time with my mom. Palisade would be the perfect weekend trip for anyone. Even though we didn't do any of the activities that were advertised, we had an amazing time. It was such a perfect day. I hope to go back in the fall and check out the orchards and go visit some of the wineries someday.
